SNCM Administrator Functions
♦How do I login as an administrator? (printable PDF)
NOTE: If you want to do any of the administrator functions listed below, you must first log in as an administrator. Follow these steps to login as as admin.
If you access NCM and/or PNCM via your intranet:
- You will need to click “logout” at the top of your screen to the left of the search box.
- You will be redirected to the homepage (http://nutritioncaremanual.org) where you will need to enter your user email and password, which was sent to you upon subscribing to NCM/PNCM/SNCM.
- Note: If you have subscriptions to both NCM and PNCM (companion subscriptions), your username/password will be the same for both subscriptions.
- You will be prompted to select which subscription you wish to access when you log in with your username and password.
- Click on the Administration button to the immediate left of the search box.
If you access NCM and/or PNCM via User Email and Password:
- From the homepage (http://nutritioncaremanual.org), enter your user email and password in the left blue area of the screen, and you will be able to perform administrative tasks.
- Note: If you have subscriptions to both NCM and PNCM (companion subscriptions), your username/password will be the same for both subscriptions.
- You will be prompted to select which subscription you wish to access when you log in with your username and password.
♦When do I need to log into NCM/PNCM as an administrator?
If you were listed as an administrative contact in your NCM/PNCM/SNCM account, then you are able to log in as such and accomplish the following tasks:
- Subscription additions or changes to your NCM/PNCM/SNCM account (password changes, etc)
- Renewal of your NCM/PNCM subscriptions
- Electronic sticky notes
- Formulary customization
- Electronic highlighting
♦How do I add/delete (administrative, technical, subscription users, etc.) contacts?
Note: NCM, PNCM and SNCM are separate subscriptions, and users added to one subscription (NCM) will not automatically be added to the companion subscription (PNCM).
- Login as the administrator for NCM/PNCM/SNCM (see “How Do I Log in as an Administrator”)
- Click on “Administration” next to the search box at the top of the page.
- Click “contacts” and you will see the contacts already associated with your account.
- To ADD contacts:
- To the right, click on “Add New”. If you wish to add a contact from your companion subscription, there will be a drop-down box that lists all existing users. You can select which users from the companion subscription you wish to add to have active in both subscriptions.
- Select user type from drop-down list (administrative, technical, billing, etc).
- Note: Unless you want the person to be an admin contact, leave the user type as Subscription User. Email addresses can only be used once.
- Fill out remaining fields and click “Save Profile”.
- To DELETE contacts:
- Click on the name you wish to delete and below the contact information click ‘Delete’.
- If there is only one Administrative Contact you will need to add another Administrative contact before deleting the previous contact. Follow the steps to ADD new contacts to add a new administrative contact.
- Click "Save Profile".
♦How do I change my password? (printable PDF)
- Login as the administrator for NCM/PNCM/SNCM (see “How Do I Log in as an Administrator”)
- Click on “Administration” next to the search box at the top of the page.
- On the left hand side in the box titled ‘Administration’ click ‘Change Password’
- Enter the password of your choice and ‘Save’.
- The new password will be activated immediately.
♦How do I change the contact information for a user?
- Click on the person’s information you wish to edit.
- You can change all information except the user type.
- When you are done, click “Save Profile” to exit.
♦How do I add subscriptions? (printable PDF)
You can add more subscriptions to your account at any time. If you have companion subscriptions (both NCM and PNCM) you will need to complete these steps for each subscription.
- Login as the administrator for NCM/PNCM/SNCM (see “How Do I Log in as an Administrator”)
- Click on “Administration” next to the search box at the top of the page.
- Verify information in the Subscription Detail section and update any information that may have changed.
- Click the link that says “Click here to buy more subscriptions”.
- Fill in the number of subscriptions you want to ADD to your existing account.
- You will receive a message that states an ADA member representative will contact you about your order. A detail of your order request will appear on the page.
♦How do I change user permissions? (printable PDF)
- Login as the administrator for NCM/PNCM/SNCM (see “How Do I Log in as an Administrator”)
- Click on “Administration” next to the search box at the top of the page.
- Choose “Contacts” above the heading “Subscription Details”.
- Click on the name you whose permission you wish to change.
- Under “User Type” click on the drop down arrow to select permission type:
- “Administrative Contact” ability to make internal changes such as renew, customize formulary, add sticky notes, add users, and change user permission.
- “Subscription User” will only have a read-only access and cannot make changes.
- “Technical Contact” will be able to set-up network access within the facility.
NOTE: You can only have 1 Billing Contact per NCM/PNCM/SNCM subscription. If you should need to change the Billing Contact, the individual must already be listed as a contact in your subscription. If the individual is already listed, go to “Detail” and in the drop down window next to “*Billing Contact” find their name, select it and save.
If the individual is NOT listed in the subscription:
- Click “Contacts”
- On the far right hand side click “Add New” and complete the “Modify Contact” form then Save Profile.
- Then to change Billing Contact, follow the above instructions.
♦How do I create a custum URL for my NCM/PNCM/SNCM subscription(s) and make them available on my intranet? (printable PDF)
Setting up a custom URL will allow users to log in without a username and password. REMEMBER: NCM access is based on concurrent users. If more people try to access NCM than you have subscriptions, they will receive a notice alerting them to the overflow. They will be able to access as soon as someone else logs out, or after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- Login as the administrator for NCM/PNCM/SNCM (see “How Do I Log in as an Administrator”)
- Click on “Administration” next to the search box at the top of the page.
- Click on the IP Address link.
- Enter the IP ranges of your computers that you want to be able to access the NCM. To add additional ranges, click on the Add More icon.
- When done, click Save IP Addresses AND at the bottom of the page choose IP as the Logon Method.
- Click Update Logon Method to finish.
- A custom URL will be generated at the bottom of the page for your use to set up a link or icon on your computers to directly access the NCM without using a user name a password.
♦How do I create, edit, or delete sticky notes? (printable PDF)
- Login as the administrator for NCM/PNCM/SNCM (see “How Do I Log in as an Administrator”)
- To manage all your existing sticky notes in one table, click “Administration” at the top of the page.
- Click “Markup Notes” from the left-hand side of the screen in the Administration box. From this table, you can view, modify, or delete any sticky note.
- To create NEW sticky notes:
- Go to the page you wish to place a Sticky Note.
- Above the selected topic, in the toolbar, click the yellow envelope with the green plus sign third icon from the left
- In the pop-up window, type a short description, then click “add note”.
- “Saved Note” will appear afterwards in the section you have chosen.
- To DELETE a sticky note:
- Click on the plus sign [+] next to “Saved Note” heading.
- Next to the sticky note will be a red ‘x’. Click the ‘x’ to delete your note. Once deleted it cannot be retrieved. information.
